Graphic designers are professional communicators who convert the written word into abstract ideas. Graphic designers are found in corporations, government institutions, advertising agencies, design firms, and commercial printers, with many freelancing as independent designers. Duties may include creating web sites and designing books, magazines, logos, symbols, newspapers, print and TV ads, packaging, exhibits, signage, and all types of communication programs.
